ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Facilities Engineering, this position will be responsible for:

  • Supporting exploitation, production and operations teams’ production and capital management goals by providing expertise with planning and execution of fit-for-purpose oil and gas well site facilities, pipelines, and central processing facilities projects.
  • Attending regular meetings with exploitation, production, operations, and executional teams (drilling, completions, surface land, stakeholders, procurement, EHS, JV) to ensure good communication regarding project needs, status, priorities, issues, and exchange of ideas.

  • Participating in and promoting Lightstream’s Health, Safety and Environment policies from initial design phase through to construction, commissioning and final turn over to operations.

  • Ensuring facilities construction and designed operation comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and environmental requirements.
  •  Managing external engineering project teams for the completion of the technical designs and procurement services they provide on facilities projects.

  • Providing facilities projects budgets, detailed cost estimates, tracking project costs to date, managing contingency and providing updated final forecasts.

  • Providing facilities projects budget completion dates, detailed project schedules, tracking project progress and providing updated on-stream dates.
  • Providing engineering support for field operations and stewarding modifications and additions to Lightstream’s infrastructure and batteries.

  • Managing projects responsibly in a manner consistent with Lightstream's corporate values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An Engineer or Technologist with a minimum of 5 years directly related experience, preferably executing projects within an owner company.
  • Current membership with APEGGA or ASET and a P.Eng or C.E.T. designation.

  • Proven project management and technical skills associated with the execution (scoping, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation, close out) of oil and gas facilities.
  • Possess a working knowledge of applicable regulatory codes, standards and best practices such as BC OGC, AER, ECON, CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, CSA Electrical Code.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects ranging in cost of $50,000 to $2,000,000.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to clearly communicate thoughts and expectations across multiple project stakeholders.

  •  Sound problem solving, risk management and decision making abilities.
